We are pleased to announce that MISIF, the Nickel Institute (NI), and the International Molybdenum Association (IMOA) are jointly organising the first webinar of 2026 to promote the wider application of stainless steel across various sectors.
MISIF has been collaborating regularly with the Nickel Institute, based in Belgium, and the International Molybdenum Association (IMOA) to conduct workshops and training courses on stainless steel applications in various industries.
The webinar will be facilitated by Mr. Gary Coates, P.Eng., Technical Manager at the Nickel Institute, Toronto, Canada. Mr. Coates has 45 years of experience in the stainless steel and nickel alloys industry, including the past 21 years with the Nickel Institute. His areas of particular interest are corrosion and welding.

The China Iron & Steel Industry Association (CISA) and the Malaysian Iron and Steel Industry Federation (MISIF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 19 September 2026 in Shanghai, marking an important milestone in strengthening cooperation between the steel industries of Malaysia and China.
The MOU establishes a platform for closer dialogue and collaboration in areas including industry development, technology and innovation, green and low-carbon transition, standards, talent development, and the sharing of industry knowledge and experience.
As the global steel industry continues to navigate changes in trade, technology and sustainability, stronger industry-to-industry cooperation and open dialogue are increasingly important.
MISIF and CISA look forward to translating the MOU into meaningful and practical collaboration, strengthening industry linkages and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, technology cooperation and joint initiatives.
A new chapter begins, with many more meaningful exchanges and collaborations ahead.
