C03-2024 ESG ESSENTIALS AND CARBON FOOTPRINT AND WASTE ANALYSIS FOR IRON AND STEEL INDUSTRY

MISIF is organising a training titled “From Principles to Practice: ESG Essentials and Carbon Footprint and Waste Analysis for Iron and Steel Industry.” The training is scheduled to take place on June 4 & 5, 2024, at the MISIF Training Room. This program is meticulously crafted to establish a dynamic and engaging educational environment that cultivates a forward-thinking mindset among leaders in Malaysia’s iron and steel sector. It aims to empower participants to adeptly navigate and manage the multifaceted aspects of sustainability-related challenges and opportunities within this industry.

The ultimate goal of this training is to inspire and equip attendees to implement impactful changes in their organizations, aligning corporate strategies with environmental and social ethics for enduring success. Through this program, participants will gain the tools and insights necessary to advance both their personal leadership capabilities and their company’s sustainability goals in the global marketplace.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Gain a solid understanding of the core concepts, regulatory and compliance demands for your industry, and current movements in ESG and Sustainability.
  • Learn to recognize key topics and master the skill of prioritizing important issues.
  • Be able to clearly communicate the major benefits of integrating ESG strategies into overall business strategies.
  • Understand GHG emission sources in the context of entity-level operations and define organizational & operational boundaries.
  • Acquire knowledge on classifying sources correctly under Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
  • Acquire knowledge of classifying waste categories and understanding the concepts of “waste diverted to disposal” and “waste diverted away from disposal”.
  • Learn effective communication and reporting of carbon footprint information, ensuring organizational transparency and accountability.
