MISIF is organising a training titled “From Principles to Practice: ESG Essentials and Carbon Footprint and Waste Analysis for Iron and Steel Industry.” The training is scheduled to take place on June 4 & 5, 2024, at the MISIF Training Room. This program is meticulously crafted to establish a dynamic and engaging educational environment that cultivates a forward-thinking mindset among leaders in Malaysia’s iron and steel sector. It aims to empower participants to adeptly navigate and manage the multifaceted aspects of sustainability-related challenges and opportunities within this industry.

- Understand GHG emission sources in the context of entity-level operations and define organizational & operational boundaries.
- Acquire knowledge on classifying sources correctly under Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
- Acquire knowledge of classifying waste categories and understanding the concepts of “waste diverted to disposal” and “waste diverted away from disposal”.
- Learn effective communication and reporting of carbon footprint information, ensuring organizational transparency and accountability.
