Every two years, MISIF holds a conference on the steel industry with the view to update all stakeholders on the outlook and developments in the steel industry. This one-day event will focus on the performance, near term outlook and way forward for the domestic iron and steel industry. It will also delve on regional developments and perspectives of foreign investors operating in Malaysia as well as major global players on the iron and steel industry as a whole. Lessons learned from trade actions and the status of the Malaysian construction industry will complete the conference programme.

The first announcement brochure detailing the conference registration procedure, programme and other useful information are attached for your further action. In conjunction with this conference, we are also taking the opportunity to launch the MISIF 12th Report on the Status and Outlook of the Malaysian Iron and Steel Industry. This biennial report has become a major reference material in the steel industry and much looked forward for the useful information and credible data that MISIF tried its utmost to provide.

The MISIF 35th Anniversary Dinner will be held immediately after the conference on the same day/venue. The annual dinner is an occasion to get together and renew business contacts as well as to enhance networking opportunities. We are happy to inform that YB Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan, Minister of International Trade and Industry II, will be gracing the dinner event as Guest-of-Honour. We seek your kind support to book dinner table/tables. We expect about 600-strong guests and members of the steel community will attend this premier function. We also wish to inform that one of the delightful programme for the evening will be the “Lucky Draw”. As such, we welcome any contributions (cash or kind) for the lucky draw prizes.

We trust you will render your support to MISIF on the above events. We look forward to your favourable reply, participation and sponsorship to make this year’s 35th Anniversary celebration of MISIF a resounding success and a most memorable one.
