2013 MISIF/SEAISI Seminar

2013 SEAISI/MISIF SEMINAR ON PROBLEM Solving Tools for Improvement in the Steel Mills Operation

Each year, the South East Asia Iron and Steel Institute (SEAISI) collaborates with the national committees of its member countries (MISIF in Malaysia) to organize a travelling seminar on topics of interest to the steel community in the ASEAN region. This year, the seminar will be held in Malaysia as follows:

Date:               Monday, 18 March 2013

Time:              8.30 a.m. – 2.30 p.m.

Place:             MISIF Training Room, Shah Alam, Selangor

Theme: Problem Solving Tools for Improvement in the Steel Mills Operation

Problem solving tools are used in the Steel industry when products or processes fail, so corrective action can be taken to prevent further failures. It can also be applied to a product or process prior to an actual fail event, i.e., when a potential problem can be predicted and analyzed, and mitigation measures applied so the problem never actually occurs. Techniques such as Six Sigma, TRIZ, TPM and computational modeling can be used to proactively reduce the likelihood of problems occurring and reaching a definite goal from a present condition.

We are pleased to announce that registration for the seminar is now open. Further details are available in the brochure attached. Kindly take advantage of the early bird registration fee. We look forward to having you and your representatives the seminar.
