2015 MISIF/SEAISI Seminar on Energy Efficiency Advances in the Modern Steel Mills

Each year, the South East Asia Iron and Steel Institute (SEAISI) collaborates with the national committees of its member countries (MISIF in Malaysia) to organize a travelling seminar on topics of interest to the steel community in the ASEAN region. This year, the seminar will be held in Malaysia as follows:

Date: Wednesday, 08 April 2015
Time: 8.30 a.m. – 2.30 p.m.
Venue: Gallery 1, Level 3, Concorde Hotel, Shah Alam, Selangor

Theme: Energy Efficiency Advances in the Modern Steel Mills

Energy efficiency measures have been of interest to steel manufacturers all these while because energy cost is a major factor of production cost. To compete in such a competitive business environment nowadays, steel manufacturers have to reduce energy costs by implementing various energy efficiency practices and energy-efficient technologies that are available in order to utilize the energy resources more effectively.

In addition, the energy used in the iron and steel industry is also a major source of emissions. Improvements in energy efficiency can also provide opportunities for steel mills to reduce both emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases.

Further details on the seminar are available in the brochure attached. Kindly take advantage of the early bird registration fee. We look forward to having you and your representatives at the seminar.
